Olympics London 2012

OLYMPICS LONDON 2012 – 27th July to 12 August and Paralympics from 29 August to 9 September

Very exciting time for the UK and London in particular but can cause a real headache if you need to organise a conference or event that coincides with the Olympic dates.

London hotels as I write are currently around 30% higher than normal and often include prohibitive conditions such as minimum stay of 5 nights etc.

It is also widely felt that some hotels may offer accommodation to those clients they consider to be most lucrative and this may block out hotels and venues that you may otherwise have considered for your meeting or event.

If you have any inbound delegates arriving please do ensure that their accommodation has already been secured and you have the offer in writing.

Perhaps you may like to consider using a venue further afield to keep costs down or even suggest video conferencing so people can link up from various locations / destinations.
